Excelicare’s leadership team is passionate about transforming health care by giving patients the support they need and surrounding them with a care community they trust.

Our team consists of pioneering physicians, technologists and executives who are committed to the delivery of better healthcare through the application of innovative information technologies. With over 60 years combined experience practicing medicine and over 165 years combined experience in the development and delivery of complex software systems, and several decades of experience in healthtech, we understand how to meet the evolving needs of providers, patients and caregivers in ways that are both practical and effective.

R&D at IBM; executive positions at Cisco, Apple, CA Technologies and Allscripts

Cliff most recently served as Executive Vice President of Solutions Development at Allscripts health care Solutions from July 2011 through Dec 2013. Cliff was responsible for the technology vision, strategy and product development resources. Prior to Allscripts, Cliff was Chief Development Officer at CA Technologies where he also held the position of General Manager of the Service Assurance Business Unit. Cliff also worked at Apple where he was responsible for the platform dependent software for Macintosh products. Cliff spent 11 years at Cisco Systems holding numerous senior executive level positions. Cliff spent 16 years with IBM, the last 10 at IBM Research doing research and product development on high performance mainframe inter-networking. Cliff attended the Juilliard school of Music and holds a BA degree in mathematics and a MS in Computer Science from the University of Rochester.

Anesthesiologist & healthtech pioneer at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and HCI International Medical Centre; co-founder & CEO of AxSys Technology Ltd.

Pradeep brings to our senior executive team a rich combination of extensive clinical experience and pioneering thought leadership in the domain of healthcare IT. A practicing physician for more than 20 years before co-founding AxSys Technology Ltd., the firm that conceived and developed the Excelicare platform, he has been responsible for introducing information technology into clinical practice since the early 1980s. He has contributed to the body of knowledge in this field through numerous scientific papers, presentations and reviews, and chaired healthcare IT sessions at various international scientific meetings through the 1990s. In addition to his original work in the field of healthcare IT he authored several peer-reviewed publications in the field of anesthesiology and intensive care.

Pradeep’s senior medical career commenced in 1989 when he was appointed as a Consultant in Anaesthesia, with a special interest in Medical Informatics, at Aberdeen Royal Hospitals NHS Trust. In 1994, as the lead physician, he was responsible for overseeing the clinical implementation of the world’s very first enterprise scale electronic medical record (EMR) system, by Cerner Corporation. In 1996 he accepted a position as Chairman of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at the HCI International Medical Centre in Glasgow and subsequently became Medical Director of the facility in 1997.

Pradeep achieved his primary medical qualification, MBBS, in 1979 from Osmania University in Hyderabad, India, and was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists, FRCA, in London, UK, in 1984.

Psychiatrist at Grampian University Hospitals NHS Trust and Greater Glasgow Health Board; co-founder & Executive Director of AxSys Technology Ltd.

Anjali brings years of clinical, research and product development experience to our senior executive team. Having co-founded AxSys Technology Ltd. in 2000, she has spent the last 16 years leading the development of the Excelicare platform, working closely with product management, client solutions and engineering teams in UK and India to deliver innovative software solutions to address healthcare needs. Her clinical experience working in multi-disciplinary teams caring for patients with long term conditions was a principal motivation for making longitudinal patient records and a robust security model cornerstones of the platform.

Having graduated in medicine in 1982 from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India, Anjali trained and worked as a psychiatrist in the National Health Service (NHS) in Scotland, combining clinical practice with research. She was awarded the Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, MRCPsych, in London, UK, in 1988. In addition to participation in several multi-national drug research projects, where she gained valuable experience in multi-centre drug trials, research protocols and ethical considerations of clinical practice, she was lead author of a seminal publication on Korsakoff’s Psychosis and presented at the X World Congress of Psychiatry. Through the course of her clinical practice Anjali became involved in the design of clinical software systems and continues to take a close interest in the analysis, design and development of the Excelicare platform and population health management solutions.

Sales & marketing leadership at IBM, AT&T, Cisco, Avaya and several startups

Nick has held senior sales and marketing positions at IBM, AT&T, Cisco, and Avaya. He has managed a boutique management consulting firm specializing in capitalization, governance, and go to market strategies. Nick was co-founder of a venture backed network services company and has participated in the emergence of several disruptive technologies. He attended East Carolina University and holds a BS in Management and an MBA.

Pioneering technologist at U. Rochester, Stanford, Olivetti, Vicor, Avistar, ShoreTel,Cisco and SMART Technologies; 39 US patents

Dr. Lantz is a pioneering technologist and business leader with over 30 years’ experience developing groundbreaking communications and collaboration technologies. Previously, as Vice President of SMART Labs, he conceived the overall strategy underlying SMART Technologies’ efforts to expand its presence in the enterprise market and led the creation of SMART’s applied research lab. From 1998 through 2009, as a Cisco Distinguished Engineer, he led many of Cisco’s enterprise video & conferencing initiatives, from its first serious entry into the videoconferencing market to its acquisition of Tandberg.

While Principal Scientist & Director of Technology at Vicor Inc. he co-invented the enterprise video system subsequently productized by Avistar Communications and led multiple client-funded projects addressing corporate memory, business intelligence and information publishing that foreshadowed present day customer relationship management systems and Web-based collaboration portals. While on the faculty at Stanford University and subsequently at Olivetti Research California he led the seminal research program on shared window systems, a precursor of what is now commonly referred to as web conferencing. He also conducted pioneering research in networked window systems, directory services, distributed operating systems, and fault-tolerant distributed computation.

He has 39 US patents and 24 international patents and holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Rochester, as well as BS and MS degrees in the same field from Washington State University and the University of Rochester, respectively.

PJ is a senior executive with a long and successful history in the Telecommunications, Networking and Healthcare IT industries. He most recently held the position of Vice President of Development at Allscripts Healthcare. Over the course of his career, PJ has been at the forefront of incubating nascent technologies and transformative solutions across the areas of Mobility, Virtualization, Cloud Services, and Unified Communications & Collaboration. PJ’s experience spans 12 years with Cisco Systems and 15 years with Bell Labs, and involved activities from advanced research in Artificial Intelligence and Speech Technologies through turning around large corporate acquisitions. PJ graduated from the University of Miami with a dual major in Computer Science and Mathematics, and later earned his Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Practicing infectious diseases specialist; CMO at Allscripts; Medical Director of IT at Houston Methodist Hospital; HIT consultant

Toby is a Physician Executive with over 20 years’ experience in Healthcare Information Technology on both provider and vendor sides. He is a Practicing Clinician with specialty in Infectious Diseases.

Toby was the Medical Director of Information Technology at the Houston Methodist Hospital for 4 years. He then was the Chief Medical Officer for Allscripts for 6 years. He recently held the post of acting Chief Medical Information Officer for Medecision Corp. He has also been a consultant in healthcare information technology since 2005 and worked with various organizations relating to HIT adoption, implementation, development, patient safety and other topics.

He completed his undergraduate work at Rutgers College and medical school at Chicago Medical School, with his residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Baylor College of Medicine. More recently, he has obtained a certificate from Rice University in the area of Medical and Healthcare Management. Toby is a Fellow of Health Information Management and Systems Society (HIMSS) and was a member of EHR Association Patient Safety Workgroup and the Texas Medical Association Health Information Technology Workgroup.
